We regularly alert you about updating your canned software like WordPress and others, but if you haven't been keeping up with your installations lately, it's time to take another look. This weekend, the makers of the All in One SEO Pack (19 million downloads) announced an update that you must make to avoid problems with your website.
The latest exploit allows a non-administrative user to log in and change certain configuration parameters for your web site and potentially hack other websites using XSS (cross site scripting) methods. At the very least, this exploit could be used to ruin your search engine rankings. At worst, the hacker might change your admin password or install malicious code on your site for other purposes.
