You have probably heard about "the cloud" and wondered what it is and how it might be useful to you. If you're in the "What's the Cloud?" crowd, wonder no longer. At 111 Web Studio, we can provide cloud services or just clear up the clouds for you.
Simply put, the cloud is a euphemism for all the various services you will find on the Internet. More recently, it tends to refer to services that used to be supplied by local hardware - office servers for instance. Today, many businesses can achieve off-site backup, redundancy and access to their server from multiple locations most easily by putting their server in the cloud. All this means is that instead of a piece of hardware being in your office, it's in a data center somewhere. Don't get confused when you hear about such things as virtual servers or VPS. All this means is that your server shares hardware resources like memory and CPU with other servers. It all ends up being hardware someplace and it's all your own. Virtualization just means that your physical server's resources are shared with other folks to make the most of those hardware resources.
